Soccer World Cup 2006 - Eighth of finale - Summary

  • Obvious Victory… not so obvious that that! The victory of Italy vis-a-vis in Australia seemed obvious it was however not it, since the goal liberator was marked only at the end of the match!
  • Obvious Victory: Brazil beats Ghana by marking 3 goals…
  • Victory… not obvious: France beats Spain by three goals to one!
For some, Spain was favorite, for others the match was regarded as balanced… But very little saw France winner!
  • Red card: the meeting Portugal/Netherlands with ..... 16 yellow cards and 4 red cards!
  • Switzerland, a team… not like the others?
    • Glop! Switzerland was eliminated in eighth from finale without to have taken the least goal at the time of the tournament.
    • Not Glop! Switzerland also became the first team in the history of the World cup not to have registered only one goal of its shootings to the goal. (In 16 matches of World cup whose exit was decided by a meeting of shootings to the goal before this eighth, never a team had not seen all its penalties stopped by the goalkeeper or/and to pass beside the framework.)
Not to box goals can help, but if one does not mark… one does not win!

Champion and… modest!

With each one its surface and each one its record: like his rival Rafael Nadal, holder of the longest victorious series on beaten ground, Roger Federer changed to 42 the greatest number of matches gained after on grass, Tuesday with the tennis tournament of Wimbledon.
Contrary to Nadal, honoured at the time of a small ceremony at the beginning of Roland-Garros after having erased Guillermo Vilas of the shelves, Federer had excluded by advance any form from celebration from its exploit. “It is at the end of the tournaments that the trophy is received, not after the first turn”, it had prevented.
LONDON (AFP)

I was disappointed by the defeat Roger Federer finally of Roland Garros against Rafael Nadal. Roger Federer belongs to the best players of tennis, but he always remains very modest.

Soccer World cup 2006 - Quarterfinals

  • Berlin - Friday June, 30th, 5 p.m.: Germany - Argentina.
  • Hamburg - Friday June, 30th, 9 p.m.: Italy - Ukraine.
  • Gelsenkirchen - Saturday July, 1st, 5 p.m.: England - Portugal.
  • Frankfurt am Main - Saturday July, 1st, 9 p.m.: Brazil - France.

For the semi-finals, I forecast:
  • Germany/Ukraine
  • England/Brazil
But I hope we will have England/France: the idea of an England match/France and the fact that France would play Allianz Arena of Munich would not be without me to displease. But I think that Brazil has more chances than France to win!

Switzerland - Ukraine: at the end of a match without goals, the Ukraine is essential on Switzerland at the time of the meeting shootings to the goal!

Brazil - Ghana: Brazil is victorious without surprised (by three goals to zero)

Spain - France: Spain, contrary to very many forecasts, inclines itself vis-a-vis in France… by scoring one goal and by taking 3 ones!

Seven deadly sins - avarice or cupidity

Avarice or cupidity: desire to have or preserve more richnesses than necessary. Its demon is Mammon.

Suri Cruise does not allure enough the media: Tom and Katie are terribly disappointed by it.

Did you already see the face of small Suri Cruise?
Not, obviously, because no picture of the baby has been baught by the tabloids.
That's true we've almost forgotten her, however her parents, them, decided not to draw a feature on this history.
According to the journalist Roger Friedman, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes proposed a stereotype of their baby to the agence Wire image, to negotiate the sale near the publications of it, but the biddings are not assembled rather high.
Eh yes, three million dollars is a rising insufficient good with the eyes of the couple, which intended to give a part of the profits obtained to the church of scientology.
Suri thus makes pale figure vis-a-vis Shiloh, who collected 4 millions Euros, but her parents did not say their last word… To be followed!

All that in more with the profit of a sect, whereas this money could serve so much well as the humane causes…

A woman of 45 kilos gains a contest of the big eater in Virginia LYNCHBURG, Virginia
(AP) - Sonya Thomas weighs only 45 kilos, but that which is called “the black widow” gained the contest of the big eater at the time of the 16th annual gathering of the owners of Harley Davidson of the State of Virginia, by ingurgitant a total of 60 breads to milk with ham.

That which gained its nickname after having beaten on several occasions corpulent male adversaries demolished eleven competitors belonging to the international Federation of the competitions of eaters and the owners of Harley Davidson come from all the state of Virginia.

Its adversary finally ate only 42 breads with milk with ham, one of the favorite mets in the South of the United States.

At five minutes of the end, whereas they had the full mouth, the two rivals continued to soak their breads with milk in jugs and glasses of water in order to swallow them more quickly. “Sometimes, water returns to me a little nauseous”, declared Sonya Thomas, which used in the very last minutes of the competition a technique which, according to it, assistance to reduce food: to jump to bell-foot.

Beyond the capital sin of gluttony, I think all this displaying and wasting of foos is scandalous whereas so many people are dying of hunger, including in the United States!

First day of the summer…

The first day of the summer is given on a quite precise date according to the positioning of the sun compared to the ground.
The summer solstice is alternate between the Northern hemisphere and the Southern hemisphere. I.e. for the Northern hemisphere (for example Canada, France, China), the summer solstice takes place on June 21, whereas this same date corresponds to the winter solstice for the southern hemisphere (for example Australia, Brazil and Madagascar)!

The summer corresponds to the period of the year when the sunning of the day is longest and the positioning of the sun compared to the ground highest. The summer is the ideal occasion to take its holidays in order to benefit from the sun. Then, if it is not done yet, I highly advise you to make your reservations (hotels, planes, stays…) for your summer holidays as of now not having nasty surprises.

More than 20.000 people were joined together on the miniscule site of Stonehege (in the south of England) in order to celebrate the summer solstice.

… the first paid-leaves in France appeared!

The paid-leaves are a major social innovation whose certain first steps had appeared in collective agreements in Germany at the beginning of the XXème century. This social conquest related to the advent of the Popular Front in France was constantly fought by employers. At the beginning of the 21st century it is still relatively not very widespread in the world.

TV: They don't know… what invent any more!

Maeva, to play without being mistaken…
Maeva, 21 years old, model and former air-hostess, takes part in “To play is not to mislead”, a strategic play of TV-reality diffused on the musical chain of the TNT.
Filmed 24 hours a day, Maeva and four young men whose only one single person live together locked up in a house on two floors during four days and three nights.
The principle: Maeva must guess which of the four boys (Antoine, Benjamin, Anthony or Arnaud) does not have anybody in his life. The boys must each one persuade it which they are the single person. And to spice the whole, the girl friends of faulty observe them since a room of visionnage and their give advised councils.
If Maeva avoids the traps machiavelic and discovers the true single person, it shares 10.000 euros with him. If it designates a liar, it is the couple which empoche money.
“I was convinced by the side manipulator of this play of TV-reality a little more relevant than usually” Maeva affirms. “In the life, I am not a seductresses, I have much evil to go towards the boys” however acknowledges Miss Mayotte 2004 who must use of all the stratagems to find her ally. The televiewers, them, know as a preliminary that Antoine, charming 25 year old young man, is the single person who must convince Maeva. “It is a good experiment for me, that enabled me to discover many things of my personality” insists the young woman who currently carries out tests to animate soon a program of a chain of the satellite. The last of the four episodes “To play is not to mislead” will be diffused on Saturday June 10, before the best-of of June 17. For those which very missed, not of panic: the episodes will pass by again from June 24.

I do not know what is most pathetic: these new shows or the fact that it have a public there to look at this kind of things!

France - Adecco and l'Oréal released for discrimination at the time of recruitment

“The business was started by a complaint of S.O.S-Racism. In the support, association had produced a fax of July 12, 2000 sent by Districom, a subsidiary company of Adecco charged to assemble promotional operations, at agencies of interim.
The details there the profile of the hostesses sought by Oréal to make the demonstration of its new products of the line Fructis Style: 18-22 years, cuts clothing 38 to 42 (French Size), BBR.
This last code would mean in fact "Bleu, Blanc Rouge" (blue, white, red) to exclude the candidates from color.
According a survey, l'Oréal established that very few girls of African, Maghrebian or Asian origin had finally been retained for the countryside launching. “
AP

First of all nothing proves that BBR means “bleu (blue), blanc (white), rouge(red)”.

Then, if this code aimed at the exclusion of the candidates of color, there would not have been no girls of African, Maghrebian or Asian origin reserves for the launching campaign.

It should not, also, not be forgotten that the candidates were also to meet the following conditions: 18-22 years, cuts clothing 38 to 42 (French size), which, without being with racist connotation, should be considered as discriminatory.

Why a 25 years old woman should not be able to make a good demonstration of hair care?
In the same way, why excluding men?
A young man would thus not be capable of a good demonstration of hair care?

Happy birthday ... Big-Ben !

Big Ben is the nickname of the large bell (it is 4.25 meters long!) located in the Tower of the Clock (Clock Tower) of the Palate of Westminster, the seat of the British Parliament.

This bell sounds every hour. By extension, the clock and the whole tower are named Big Ben.

The clock is made up of four dials 7 meters in diameter and a bell weighing 13,5 tons installed in 1858, June, 1st.

It is called Big Ben to remember it Benjamin Hall, first police chief of public works, who was of strong stoutness.

Each year, the clock is regulated by posing a part of 1 penny on the pendulum if it takes lead; one removes from it if it delays.

The exact hour is given by the first blow. The sound of Big Ben has a noise which carries to a little more 6km.
